Well, I recently realised just how far behind I am with my studies this term... I started the term with good intentions, of being on task and keeping up with everything. After spending a whole week with family and friends, to help cope with the death of my Grandad, then spending 4 days house bound due to the flu, it's time to focus. I need to get back into some sort of routine. Although, I was never really in a routine, I did have things under control. Now I feel like things are spiraling out of control. Ok, maybe I'm over reacting with the whole "spiraling out of control", because it's never too late to take control of my own learning.

I completed the Learning Styles and Multiple Intelligences quizes for Week 1. I have done Soloman-Felder's Learning Styles questionnaire in a previous university course, along with Keirsey's Temperament Sorter II and Belbin's Team Roles Questionnaire. It was interesting to see how my learning styles have changed since 2009. I will try to upload both results to demonstrate the differences. 



This was my results in 2009. It is clear that my learning was best achieved through active engagement, intuitive activities, visual aides with a balance of sequential and global views of information.











However, my results from the most recent attempt shows a change to a balance of active and reflective activities, sensory and intuitive engagement. Whereas my visual, and balance of sequential and global learning remains basically the same.



I think it is important for teachers to realise that students' learning styles and personality types may change over time, and can do so in a variety of ways. This is where differentiation, planning and flexibility become vital parts of teaching. Starting with a plan that addresses the needs of all, the flexibility to change things at the drop of hat, all for the vast differences amongst our learners. We, as teachers, need to be able to adjust the delivery of education to cater for all students.
